"Underneath the mistletoe"
Sunday night I came home to the cutest mistletoe ball EVER!!! My wonderful FIL and MIL brought it when they came to our open house!!! It is so pretty… not to mention fun! I keep forcing my sweet husband under it. I think I’m going to move it again so he won’t be expecting a kiss! I was very curious about the history of kissing under the mistletoe so I looked it up! (what did people do before google???) So, here it is… Merry Kissing!

all luke wants for christmas is... a sugar glider?!?!?!?
Ok. So, I was so excited to blog about the romantic dinner that I made for my husband. I lit the candles, opened a bottle of wine, and turned on Frank. It was perfect!!! Then Mr. Lukass tells me to Google the new pet that he wants, a sugar glider!!! Needless to say I am headed to Barnes and Nobles and he is playing Black Ops… There will be no sugar gliders welcome in the Adams home!!!! Look at this guy… ewwwww!!!!
I LOVE Christmas Break!!!
As I am sitting here this morning with a cup of coffee watching the Today Show I have convinced myself that maybe I could be a stay at home wife (notice I said wife, not mom)! I mean this is the LIFE!!! My wonderful husband kissed me goodbye this morning and left me in our cozy bed to sleep late. However, since I usually get up at 4:45 sleeping late was about 6:30. My house is clean so what am I going to do today? I decided to do a bit of online browsing after seeing Nate on the Today Show and I just ran across my most favorite blanket in the whole world. Now the problem is that I know it is sitting under my tree in the neatly wrapped red package from Pottery Barn. I want so badly to unwrap it and make this morning even better by wrapping up in my new blanket! On a cold December morning, what could be better? I wonder if Luke would notice. Maybe I could rewrap it before he gets home… what do you think?

Kevin McCallister: A lovely cheese pizza, just for me.
In light of the Christmas spirit I have been craving pizza!!! Ever since I was a little girl I have always associated Christmas with pizza and HOME ALONE! This time of year I want cheese pizza!!! So, Mr. Hubby and I bundled up and headed out in the snow to Dave’s Pizza for dinner tonight! We indulged in a pepperoni and pineapple pizza! It was delicious! We highly recommend eating there if you are in Birmingham and in the mood for good pizza! Merry Christmas!!!

Asian Children???
Ok. So maybe Luke and I have a small problem and I didn’t realize it until tonight! After cooking a phenomenal Asian dinner, Luke looks at me very serious as says, “I think our children might come out half Asian!” At that point I recounted how many times I have eaten Asian food in the last week and realize he might be right! However, his next statement confirmed that we may have a problem but there is no desire to fix it! We love Asian food!!! So, with that said, tonight we made sesame chicken, fried rice, and green beans! It was awesome! Here is the website to the green beans we made! If you want something good you will make these!!! Bon appetite!!! http://cookincanuck.blogspot.com/2009/06/asian-style-green-beans.html

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like CHRISTMAS
Mr. Hubby and I got up early Thanksgiving morning to go to the Christmas Tree Farm. My family started this tradition when I was a little girl. I don’t ever remember a Thanksgiving that we have not been to the Christmas Tree Farm. Luke and I spotted a tree that we liked when we arrived. I talked him into walking around with my parents for a little bit before he cut down our first tree. After careful consideration, he cut down the first tree we saw and our first Christmas tree!!! I must say it looks great in our living room! Thanks to Katlin we have an ornament! I can’t wait to add more to it!!! Here I come Pottery Barn… Merry Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving
This year will be our first married Thanksgiving. I am so excited. I really want to start a Thanksgiving tradition but I can’t think of one. Does anyone have any good ideas?
Our Thanksgiving festivities started last night. We went to Mrs. Robbie’s house to gather with the Jones family! Luke and I talked on the way home about how much we love getting together with our families! So, this year I am thankful that he and I were able to extend our families! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!
Our festivities will continue this week. We will also come home Thursday with our Christmas tree! Luke has never gone to the Christmas Tree Farm with me before! So, I am super excited this year. We bought lights the other day! (and settle the debate of white or colored lights… ) Now, it’s time to start decorating for Christmas!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Let there be LIGHT!!!
Mr. Hubby and I have just bought a new lamp for our living room. (I literally just drug him to Pottery Barn, without complaint on his part, to buy a lamp! He is such a good sport!) We have been complaining for a week about the lighting. It was too dark with one lamp but the big light was too much. So, with a Pottery Barn return, wedding money, and a small shoe sacrifice, we now have an awesome lamp and lamp shade! It looks great on our mustard colored wall! Our house is really coming together! Now, if we could just finish putting up the rest of our wedding gifts. That is my project this weekend considering Auburn is off! Come visit soon and see our place!!! We are officially “The Adams Family”!!!

It was the sweetest thing EVER!!! Today is my last shower! The wonderful ladies at Central Elementary School are throwing me a shower after school. I know it’s going to be amazing! Connie Hagan has been whispering things all day so I’m sure it’s going to be fun! The last thing I heard her say was toilet paper so… I am sure I will have to post pictures later.

My WALL
This is my first project that I completed all by myself. I decided that I wanted to tackle a home project by myself! I was offered tons of help but I was determined that I was going to do it alone! So, while the boys spent the weekend in ATL, I painted! The wall was originally a cream color but I thought it needed something. I read that a person's first impression of your home comes from the first thing they see! Therefore, I wanted to do something fun! I have more ideas of things to add but here is the beginning!
10-10-10
The BIG Day is approaching fast! We have been so busy getting things together and moving! Blog World has gotten lost in the shuffle but thanks to Fall Break and Jamison keeping Luke occupied I get to blog tonight! Today we tackled our first project, painting the living room wall! I painted a wall of my own last weekend when Luke was in ATL! I have to say I did a great job! Not that Luke passed out looking at my wall or anything… :) it was the Hooters girl that did that for him! Here are some pictures of our wall!

Something OLD...
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… I have the something blue and new. I’m still working on the other two. However, today, Mrs. Robbie gave me the most amazing old thing EVER!!! I would walk down the aisle with it but I’m pretty sure my future hubby would look at me kind of funny!!! Today, while pouring over Pampered Chef decisions, I mentioned that I had an obsession with bread bowls! Yes, I am talking about the very old bowls that our great, great, great grandmothers would have used to make biscuits in. I know, you must be wondering where that obsession comes from and I can’t really give you an answer! My mom has had a bread bowl as long as I can remember. I loved this bowl as a little girl! I always admired it! I have secretly been looking for one on eBay for the past couple of months and shared that secret with my mom about a week ago. While in wedding mode I thought it would be a great addition to my kitchen and pretty much decided I would give myself one. Well, the search is over! Mrs. Robbie came to the rescue today when she heard that I was looking for one! Here is a picture of us and my new/old bread bowl! It was Luke’s great-great-great grandmothers! I could not get to the car fast enough to call him and tell him about my new exquisite bowl!!! I am so excited and I have already been to Birmingham to find the perfect spot! It means so much to me!!! Thank you so much, Mrs. Robbie!!!!

Handyman Shower=Honey-do List
Ok… as most people know I have a terrible time keeping any secret from Luke. It just doesn’t happen! I tell him everything! I can’t help it… So, a couple of weeks ago I got an email from one of Luke’s Co-Workers, Felicia, asking me about giving him a Handyman Shower! I was so excited but to find out it was going to be a “surprise” Shower! Oh no… How am I going to keep this a secret from him!!! I was really worried about myself. However, I did great and Monday I got to go to Luke’s work and surprise him at his Handyman Shower! I was GREAT! I got to meet all of the amazing ladies that work at Alacare! Luke got a TON of manly gifts that were much needed! We really had a blast! Thank you to Felicia and all of the ladies at Alacare! Luke is really going to miss all of you!!! ( I will post pictures of all the showers soon!) And don’t worry… I promise all of the picture hanging supplies will be used! Hanging pictures is number 2 on Luke’s Honey-list! Number 1 is washing my car… which he is doing Friday! He’s great and is already getting the hang of the Honey-do lists! I’m so excited! He is going to be pretty great at the Husband thing! I am patting myself on the back for picking such a GREAT man!!!
Showers Galore
Friday night kicked off our first shower! I was given a Basket Shower by two wonderful ladies, Gay Adams and Angie Camp! Luke and I got a lot of really neat stuff. There was a Baking Basket, Fall Basket, Halloween Basket, Bathroom Basket, Scrapbook Basket, HONEYMOON BASKET , Cleaning Basket, Mexican Basket, and Kitchen Basket just to name a few! The night was full of laughing, great food, and the most amazing Sangrias!!!
Saturday, Luke and I spent the night at The Club in Birmingham! We had an amazing view all night! http://www.theclubinc.org/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp
Sunday, we were given our Miscellaneous Shower! WOW! It was awesome! Luke and I are so lucky to have such great families and friends! The hostesses really outdid themselves and we are so thankful for their efforts to make this a special time for us!
We would really like to thank everyone for a GREAT weekend! It is a blessing to have so many loving people in our lives!

Thank you!
This post is dedicated to all of those who made moving possible this week and weekend! My mom, David and Wade started helping last Thursday. Brad and Nick on Friday. Then, my mom, David, Jamison, Mrs. Jennifer, Greg, Mrs. Janet, and Wayne on Saturday! We could not have done it without all of you! Thank you so much and we love you all! I promise we will pay you back!
Everyone has been asking so when are you going to start living there… well, Luke will live there before me. He has been given the opportunity to move to the Hoover branch. He hasn’t been told the exact date yet but we do know he will be there soon. I will not officially be living there until we get back from our Honeymoon. (Which I am very excited about!!!)
Our new address is 1606 Morning Sun Circle Birmingham, AL. Feel free to stop by and see our “treehouse”!

Our New Home
Luke and I have officially started moving into our new condo. We are so excited! However, we won't be living there together until we are married! This morning we came up to start moving things in and stopped by a local furniture store. I found a book shelf that I LOVE!!! My parents bought it for our living room! I am so excited about it. It is from Indonesia! Which I am totally obsessed with since my recent read "Eat, Pray, Love". Luke bought me the pictures that are sitting on it. I am very excited to add our treasures to it!

Soap Box...
Ok. I was in a great mood tonight! Luke had requested that I blog and that just made me so excited! I had planned on blogging about our new condo and moving this weekend. However, when I connected to the Internet, my attention was caught by a headline on msnbc.com, "God did not Create the Universe". When I read this, four words came to mind, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME"!!!! I mean did Earth honesty just appear. I don't think so. I realize the the whole, something can come from nothing blah blah blah... however, I only think that is possible because it is God's will! Therefore, this man is nuts! I sat there and felt sorry for him and his situation and then realized that he probably doesn't pray. Which sadden me for him because his body is dwindling away and he has probably never experienced God's miracles! So, I'm going to leave Mr. Hawking a message tonight! Stop writing nonsense books and read the book that will give you all the answers you are searching for, the BIBLE! I have traveled to Europe several times so I know they have them there. If you can't find one I would be happy to bring you one in March or mail you one if you send me your address! It won't be hard for you to find what you are looking for. If you read the first sentence you will find your answer. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." That is pretty self explanatory to me. I'm sorry you waisted so much time Mr. Hawking, now you can spend the rest of your time on Earth thanking God for all the things he has created for you! Sweet dreams, Mr Hawking... like my mom always said... "Don't forget to say your prayers!"

Happy Birthday Lukas!
Happy 26th Birthday to my wonderful FiancĂ©! This weekend, Luke was surprised with a trip to New Orleans for this birthday! It was a GREAT trip! Keep in mind that any traveling with the guys is always interesting to say the least... Luke, Brad, and I arrived Saturday morning to our destination on Magazine Street. When we arrived there was a little mishap in which John came tumbling down the street, horns were blowing , Garmin was screaming, and I was pretty sure John was ran over! However, John only had a few minor scrapes and there wasn't a wreck. Needless to say... we all went to bed to take a "nap". We got up around lunch and decided to hit the town. We went to lunch on Bourbon Street. Then the guys were so sweet to walk around with me while I hit up the shops. I was really good though... I only looked for about an hour! I came away with a very pretty metal fleur de lis for our condo! I was so excited!!! Saturday night we went to dinner at Napoleon’s restaurant! It was so neat! I highly suggest eating there if you are in New Orleans. Luke and I love the bruschetta! And if the pickiest eaters in the world like it then you know it's AMAZING!!! Saturday night... well, let's just say the guys picked our entertainment for the evening! It was really a lot of fun! My only hope was that Luke have a great last "single" birthday! And, I know without a shadow of a doubt that he will never forget it! Master P was in our room when we woke up Sunday! :) Happy Birthday Lukas!!!

Chandeliers
I have begun the process creating inspiration boards for my decorating ideas! I have carefully thought about color, texture, and the overall ambience I want each room to have. Throughout the process I have unleashed a love for chandeliers. There are several at Pottery Barn that I have fallen in love with but they don’t exactly meet a newlywed budget. Therefore, this weekend along with my rug search I will be looking for both of these items as well. Here are some pictures of my inspiration!

Making a House a Home
After weeks and weeks of looking for a place to live, Luke and I have officially found our perfect first home. We are in the grueling process of purchasing a place to live in Inverness, Alabama. We are so excited! However, I have stressed over how to combine our different taste to create a home that is neither too feminine nor too masculine.
Luke has been a real trooper by accepting my thrift store raids to fine furniture to suit our taste. Luckily, for me, Luke embraced my love for old trunks. Therefore, we have officially made our first purchase for our new home. This weekend we bought a beautiful old trunk at Longleaf to use as a coffee table. I am so excited about our purchase. Now we are looking for a rug.

"SHE SAID YES"
Well, Cancun was AMAZING! On June 17th, Luke, John, Jamison, and I ventured to visit our friends south of the border. Let's just say we had a blast. John tackled a small child after refusing to purchase his starfish. Jamision concluded that El Skittles has gone international. Luke spent more time on his knees that on his feet, including asking the one question every girl dreams to hear... "Will you marry me?". And, I bought 3 beautiful bowls, did not have to visit the Mexican jail, met a really nice couple from England, and came home with a Fiance!!! You couldn't ask for a better trip! We have decided that the trip will become a yearly tradition. So, start planning... June 19/20, 2011... I'm thinking somewhere tropical! Those double hurricanes really make a great trip! Right, John?!?!?
